The PayPal process:
Please note that the documentation contained below for using the PayPal system is by no means meant to be a substitute for the official documentation provided by PayPal. The content contained within is merely an overview created to provide you insight as to the process of setting up PayPal "Buy Now" buttons for your art images on ItsArtNotStuff.

These steps might seem overwhelming but inch-by-inch it's a cinch. Have a friend or family member help you with the process if you get stuck. Nothing beats a failure but a try!

  1. Open a PayPal business account click here. Click on 'Sign Up Today' at the bottom of the page. A business account will allow you to accept both debits from bank accounts and credit card payments.
  2. When you set up the account, PayPal will then deposit 2 small amounts in your bank account, for example, US$.05 and $.09. Check with your bank in a day or so. You can return to PayPal and type in the deposit amounts or call the PayPal telephone number provided to you and tell them the amounts of the deposits. Your PayPal account will then be active.

  1. When your account is active, log in to your account.
  2. Click on Merchant Services on top tabs.
  3. Click "Buy Now buttons".
  4. Follow the instructions to create a "Buy Now" button.
  5. "Step 1"Enter Information for Item Name, and Price.
  6. "Step 2" Track Inventroy make sure item(s) does not get sold multiple times.
  7. Click No under Security Settings.
  8. Click Create Button Now at the bottom of the page.
  9. Copy the Link for Emails code to Notepad or other simple text editing tool (Wordpad etc.).
  10. Next specify tax and shipping. This is the tax rate for the state you reside in. If you're not sure, here's a list of state's tax rates in the U.S.
  1. Log into your ItsArtNotStuff.com account.
  2. Click "Art/Photos".
  3. Click on art image that you wish to sell by adding the "Buy Now" Button .
  4. Click the "PayPal Edit/Add" button.
  5. Make sure you fill in the information for the artwork, size, price (which should match price on PayPal), and description.
  6. Copy and paste the HTML code into the PayPal button field for the artwork in your member admin.
  7. Go to your profile page and you will see the PayPal "Buy Now" button (don't forget to hit the refresh button).
  1. Buyer Clicks the "Buy Now" button next to the selected items.
  2. If Buyer has a PayPal account, they log into PayPal. If the Buyer doesn't have a PayPal account, they enter all their payment information on a web page protected by PayPal.
  3. The Buyer reviews and completes the purchase on PayPal - both you as seller and the buyer will receive confirming emails detailing the amount that has been transferred to your account.
  4. Arrange delivery of Artwork.

  • If you are listing an item at multiple prices/sizes, you will have to create different listings in your account for each.
  • Be sure to include shipping and packaging in the prices you post so that you don't lose money on your transactions.
  • Be prompt in dealing with buyers to encourage resale.
  • Let others know how (and where) you sell your work on line commission free.
